April Service Project ~ Bags of Blessings

If you have driven around town lately, then you have seen people at busy intersections with a sign declaring that they are hungry and in need of food.  You are then faced with the decision – should you give money when you’re not sure how it will be spent, or should you look away and pretend not notice them?  Or… you can hand them a BAG OF BLESSINGS.

The 2nd graders are excited to be organizing and collecting for April’s service project.  We will be assembling “Bags of Blessings” that will be distributed to the homeless and people in need.  Each bag will contain non-perishable items that will feed a person for a day.  There will also be a hand written note from one of our students as well as information for local food assistance and the church’s benevolence program. Here’s how you can help:

(Place your items in the preschool building.)

9th Grade – Plastic Forks

8th Grade – Ready to Eat Tuna or Chicken (MUST be pop top)

7th Grade – Men’s Socks

6th Grade – Cases of Bottled Water

5th Grade – Small Boxes of Raisins or Granola Bars

4th Grade – Ready to Eat Tuna or Chicken (MUST be pop top)

3K Preschool & 3rd Grade – Canned Fruit (MUST be pop top)1st Grade – Large Ziploc Bags

4K Preschool & Kindergarten – Peanut Butter or Cheese Cracker Packs

Then the righteous will answer him, “Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?"  The King will reply, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”   Matthew 25: 37-40.
